2020 Festsgiving Classic, here’s our official event schedule.
Team list: Beau Chene, Bonnabel, Cecilia, Crescent City, East Ascension, East Jeff, East St John, Helen Cox, Holy Cross, Jehovah-Jireh, Jesuit, LB Landry, Liberty, McMain, Northside, North Central, Opelousas, Shaw, Slidell, Southern Lab, St. Paul’s, St. Augustine and Zachary.
FEATURED MATCHUPS:
Jehovah Jireh vs Helen Cox: This game will feature two top 2022 point guards, John Paul-Ricks (JJ) vs Alexaye Johnson (HC) is a key matchups that will help college coaches get a good evaluation. Paul-Ricks shoots it well from 3, while Johnson loves to use his body against smaller defenders.
Southern Lab vs Crescent City: This game will feature two of the top 2023 Big men in Louisiana, #1 6’7 Tyler Ringgold (SL) and #2 6’7 John Kelly (CC). This matchup will be a statement game with the battle of the young big guys.
Liberty vs Holy Cross: This game will feature two under the radar guards who is expected to make a name this season, Jacob Wilson (LB) vs Dominic Dejoie (HC). Wilson is a long and smooth guard who can score multiple ways, while Dejoie is a quick guard who loves to attack the rim.
L.B Landry vs Northside: This game will feature the battle of the 2021 point guards, Bennie Amos (LB) vs Javein Moore (NS) will be the key to the victory. Amos is a sharp 3 point shooter who has improved his game tremendously over the summer, Moore is very good off the bounce and getting teammates involved.
Shaw vs Beau Chene: This game will feature the battle of the guards, both teams are loaded with good guard play. Shaw back court will feature 2022 Isaiah Barnes (SH) and 2023 Kam Johnson (SH), these two guards will be a problem for opponents all season. Beau Chene back court will feature 2022 Devondrake Drake (BC) and 2022 Titus Thomas (BC), both are very athletic and tough.
East Jeff vs Slidell: This game will feature top forwards, both teams has very good length and will be well coached. 2022 Jeffrey Landry (EJ) is a very strong big guy who controls the paint. Slidell will feature two forwards, 2021 Lorenzo Caldwell (SD) and 2021 Cooper Rachow (SD). Caldwell is long, athletic and plays with high energy, Cooper shoots the ball very well from deep.
McMain vs North Central: This game will feature top guard play from both teams. McMain returns almost it’s entire roster, led by a 3 headed monster in 2021 Taj Gilyot (MC), 2022 Alex Hammond (MC) and returning District MVP 2022 Christian Pichon (MC). North Central is looking to complete a 3 peat, lead by all-state 2021 Derrick Tezeno (NC) and 2022 Reginald Stoner (NC).
St. Augustine vs Opelousas: This game will feature two very good programs. St. Augustine will feature 2021 Nasir DeGruy (SA), a sharp shooting wing who is looking forward to leading his purple knights this season. Opelousas will feature Nicholls State commit 2021 Jonquarius McGhee (OP), a tough athletic guard who scores several different ways.
