This past weekend, HoopFests Tour Recruiting had the special opportunity to travel down to Jackson, Mississippi for Marc Rowe Crossroads of the South Showcase. Between the talent, competition and organization it was a great event. The amount of talent in Mississippi is continuing to rise, this event has gotten the attention of several top prospects. Here’s a few standouts that caught the attention of many and received offers from this first class event.
Mark Drone (’22) 5’11 Point Guard – First Love School (PA)
Lightning quick point guard with a very good handle and finishes well in traffic. Got his teammates easy buckets and played lock down defense. Drone can create his own shot and made several 3’s with defenders in his face. Jackson State has officially offered with several other D1’s showing interest.
Levionne Lindsay (’22) 6’2 Guard – Northwest Rankin High School (MS)
College ready frame, long arms and tough, he did exactly what he wanted throughout the camp. Very aggressive on the offensive end, consistent jumper, gets to the basket easy and scored in bunches.
Trace Joseph (’22) 6’7 Forward – Pascagoula High School (MS)
Long and athletic, several big time dunks, rebounded the ball very well, defended the rim and runs the floor. Joseph has a lot of potential and an huge upside, with a big time wingspan. LA and MS JUCO’s need to get in the mix immediately.
Corey Lombard (’22) 6’7 Forward – Gulf Port High School (MS)
Another Long and athletic prospect from the coast of Mississippi who can finish well at the rim, great frame and worked hard on both ends of the court. Bought a lot of energy on the defensive ends and got several blocks off the glass.
Jacob Gazzo (’23) 6’9 Forward – Park Lane High School (MS)
Easily top 3 prospects class of 2023 for the state of Mississippi and maybe the entire Deep South. Gazzo gets it done on both ends of the floor, high IQ, moves well, scores inside/out and finishes well. Not only does he has the size of a HM prospect but very athletic and finish with HM dunks. Committed to Ole Miss
