This past weekend, HoopFests Tour had the special opportunity to host our Middle School Academy Baton Rouge for players representing Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Between the talent, competition and organization it was a great event. Here’s a few standouts that caught the attention of our scouting and media team.
Landon Tinsley, 6’4 2029 (Northwood Lena) is a high level point forward with a very impressive skill set and IQ for the game. Tinsley rebounds on both ends of the floor with a natural ability to block, alter shots on defense, very strong, athletic he is a presence on the floor, very strong mid-range game, good ball handling.
Tarrell Milton, 6’4 2029 (Scarborough Middle) is a well built long Athletic wing/post combo that can score in bunches. Milton runs the floor very well, can finish with both hands, tough post defender, relentless on offense under the basket with second/third efforts, very nice touch on his shot, great hands, rebound at a high level on both ends.
Cullen Bernard, 5’8 2029 (North Corbin Junior High) is a well rounded guard with great speed and quickness with or without the ball. Bernard can get the ball to open teammates, finish through bigger defenders, nice shooting form, sees the floor very well, showed signs of toughness and leadership.
Marques Dixon, 5’9 2029 (Zachary Junior High) is definitely one to watch. Dixon has a tight handle on the ball, can get by defenders at will, knock down the 3, can finish mid range or at the basket, defensively he showed toughness, long athletic build, nice hands, strong motor are an advantage on the court on both ends.
Andre Bright 5’7 2029 (Clearwood Junior High) has an incredibly natural ability to change speed and dribble past his defender. Bright an very impressive handle on the ball allows him to see the floor, thread the needle with a pass, very quick with a high level motor who can defend the length of the floor.
Kedrel Hunter 5’7 2029 (Family Worship Academy) is an outstanding ball handler and has a very natural feel for the game. Hunter made some nice passes to his teammates that showed he has a high IQ, long arms with an athletic build he was able to produce on both sides of the court, effort and skill are impressive to watch.
Rayon Smith 6’1 2030 (Hynes UNO) is a Long and athletic multi position scorer. Smith is able to handle the ball the length of the floor or in the half court, get to his spot to score consistently, outstanding motor on both ends defensively he was able to get blocks/deflections, great rebounder on both ends, a presence on the floor.
Luke Templet 5’2 (Doyle Junior High) is an strong ball handler who had no problem splitting traps and getting the ball down the floor. Templet strength, quickness with the ball was impressive, could get to the middle, either finish/pass the ball to open teammates consistently, tough true point guard that knows his role and competes on both ends.
Ta’Quan Scott 5’10 2030 (Andrew Jackson Middle) never quit player on both ends seemed to impact every play. Scott can handle the ball, score the ball consistently, speed and athleticism shows up on the offensive/defensive end, rebounds good, guard from end to end.
Jeremiah Peeler 5’6 2030 (McKinley Middle) is a very quick guard who can get by his defender and score. Peeler defensive aggression forced turnovers, consistent rebounder on both ends, nice ball handling ability, scoring guard who also runs the floor hard.
Chase Alexander 5’2 2030 (McKinley Middle) is a strong hard nose guard that can defend the entire floor and is not afraid of contact. Alexander showed an impressive knack for getting deflections defensively as well as a strong handle on the offensive side, well rounded player who’s toughness showed up on every play.
Demias Rambo 4’5 2030 (Kings Middle) is an ultra quick floor general that showed exceptional leadership skills on both ends of the floor. Rambo defends tough, has an outstanding handle on the ball offensively, can jet by his defender at will, kept his head up to show some impressive passing ability.
