Louisiana HoopFest is headed to Central Louisiana on Saturday, January 13. This event showcases many of Louisiana top programs and provides an opportunity for exposure and competition. For basketball fans, media outlets and college coaches, it provides a look at great individual talent and experience to play at a high level. All roads lead to Southside High School, see you there! Please Note: all tickets will be sold at the venue, no cash will be accepted.

 

12:00pm Loreauville vs St. Louis Catholic will feature two very good programs. Loreauville has good guard play and will be lead by two 5’8 guards in Pahrell Nora who averaging 13 ppg and Kylon Polk at 16 ppg. St. Louis Catholic is a well coached team that is lead by one of Louisiana top available bigs 2024 PF 6’8 Clayton Blackledge who is a great shot-blocker, good foot work inside, rebounds well and finishes around the rim.

 

1:30pm Carencro vs Scotlandville will feature two respected programs from different areas of Louisiana. Carencro will have the ball with 2024 senior guard 5’7 Daunte Lewis who has the ability to shoot the ball well and 2024 small forward 6’2 Kenyon Bias who can score the ball from all three levels, has a high motor and high IQ. Scotlandville will depend heavy on 2025 point guard 5’10 Jamal Drewery who does it all, a lightning quick pg with great handles and shoots the ball.

 

3:00pm Beau Chene vs Pineville will feature two hungry programs. Beau Chene is lead by 2026 standout guard 6’0 CJ Charlot who’s averaging 17.6 ppg/4.4 assists, high IG combo guard, natural scorer and 2025 SG 6’2 Ja’Vontre Charles who’s averaging 15.6 ppg is a sharp shooter and leader. Pineville is lead by a good trio in 2024 PF 6’7 Javonte Thomas who is an elite rim protector/runs the floor well, 2024 G 6’1 Evyn Goree is averaging 13 ppg/6rpg is the perfect glue guy/does it all and 2024 SG 6’0 Kylan Edwards is lights out from the perimeter averaging 13 ppg.

 

4:30pm Franklin vs Vandebilt Catholic will feature two programs with great guard play. Franklin lead by 2024 point guard 5’10 Jayshaun Johnson who is a speedy facilitator, scrappy defender, gets to the rim with ease and 2024 guard 6’1 Jkylon Ceaser is a pure shooter and can score from anywhere on the floor. Vandebilt Catholic is lead by 2025 PG 5’11 Jordan Matthews who is one of Louisiana top 2025 point guards, a high IG, leader, very good shooter from 3 and can create off the bounce.

 

6:00pm Catholic-New Iberia vs Bossier will feature two 1st class programs. Catholic-N.I lead by 2025 shooting guard 5’11 Tristan Lewis who has good handles, smooth release, defensive stopper and 2026 power forward 6’8 Joab Trosclair who is a rim protector/always protects the lane. Bossier is lead by 2025 forward 6’7 Kerel Dean who is a do is all type of player, plays above the rim, high level rebounder and 2024 guard 6’1 Javon Johnson who averages 18 ppg, attacks on both ends of the floor, explodes to the rim and awesome rebounding guard.

 

7:30pm Southside vs Carver will feature two high flying programs. Carver who is coming off back to back State Championships will feature a very good dual in 2024 6’1 point guard Laurence Nathan who’s averaging 20 ppg and 2025 6’9 Center Daijon Leatherman who’s averaging a double double. Southside is lead by 2024 SG 6’3 Jayce Toliver who is averaging 14.3 ppg is a sniper from long range and 2025 Wing 6’3 Jaydon Norbert an athletic/bouncy slasher that average 7.8 ppg/6 reb.
